When you visit the shelter and see a companion animal that you would like to adopt, we will ask you to fill out an application for adoption. Applications are completed and processed the same day. If you complete the application ahead of visiting, please open the application file, save to your computer, complete and save the application to your computer, and email the completed application file to Elmbrookhs@ebhs.org. We ask that all family members meet the adoptable animal prior to the adoption being approved. If you are adopting a dog and have another dog in your household, we ask that you bring in your dog to meet their potential new companion. We do check home ownership or seek landlord approval as part of the adoption process. Home ownership can usually be verified the same day and we attempt to verify landlord approval same day.

Opening your home temporarily to an animal from Elmbrook Humane Society is a special way to show your passion for helping animals. Many of the animals looking for foster homes face challenges that can best be overcome with the loving support of our fantastic foster volunteers. Our foster homes also provide us the opportunity to free up more kennels to help even more animals that are in need of care. As a foster volunteer you may host animals with special medical or behavioral needs, puppies or kittens in need of special feeding and socialization or mother animals with nursing litters. By fostering a homeless animal you are providing rehabilitation in a nurturing home environment and directly preparing them for adoption into a loving home.

Ruff Luck Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit rescue group. We do not own a formal shelter or kennel. All dogs that are taken in by Ruff Luck are safe from harm and moved to a foster home where they receive individual attention, medical care, and a place to regain their ability to bond with people, if needed. Our foster home environment allows us to really get to know each and every dog’s unique personality, aiding us in finding the best possible home that fits his/her needs. Each dog will remain with Ruff Luck until he/she is adopted into a permanent home.

Unforgettable Underdogs Rescue Little Chute, WI 54140
is a volunteer run, 100% foster-based, no-kill dog rescue serving the Northeast Wisconsin area. We are dedicated to rescuing the underdogs, those who have found themselves homeless. We strive to help dogs in public high-kill shelters, those that do not do well in shelters, dogs given up or abandoned by their owners or dogs being abused or neglected. We find loving, responsible, committed permanent homes. An in-depth adoption process is used, which includes taking considerable care in finding perfect matches and educating potential adopters about the responsibilities of bringing a dog, especially their particular dog, into their life. Dogs we care for are spayed or neutered, treated for any medical needs they have, and placed into loving foster homes until they find their permanent home. We aim to help distressed dogs, no matter the age or breed.

Lucky Dog Small Breed Rescue Fond Du Lac, WI 54935
Lucky Dog Small Breed Rescue is based out of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. We do not have a 'rescue center'. Our dogs are in foster homes around the whole state of Wisconsin, assisting us with saving the lives of these dogs who cannot save themselves. We are always in need of foster homes, please contact us if you are interested in being a part of our team or fill out our volunteer form.

We know we cannot save them all but we sure do try our best. We have an extremely dedicated group of volunteers that share a passion for helping homeless dogs. Most of the dogs in our rescue are from High Kill Shelters or overcrowded Humane Societies. All too often our dogs are minutes away from euthanasia due to age, medical issues, or to free up space for more incoming dogs. We believe all dogs deserve a chance at life; no matter age or disability. Our steadfast volunteers have been involved in various rescues for several years and are happy to work with you to choose your next forever pet.
